 The Matenadaran has a history of 1600 years.  New fonts have been created which are foreseen for the computer new system UNICODE The second floors of the library and media depositaries of the Matenadaran were built In 2006 the Matenadaran collections have been enriched with 30 manuscripts and 21 printed books thanks to the donators of the "Friends of Matenadaran" Benevolent Fund. Restoration and Care of Manuscripts Current restorations of manuscripts, archive documents and old printed books have been done: Scientific Researches and Publications Manuscripts preserved in the Matenadaran contain thousands and thousands of works in various branches of science: General Catalogue of Armenian Manuscripts This is the most important of the mentioned series of publications.
